AquaStrap is a leading butyl up-stand seal used for sealing a shower tray/pan or bath tub. For those people installing a new shower tray or bath who prefer an exposed silicone joint to an extruded profile, AquaStrap will remain watertight in the event of the silicone seal leaking through joint movement or natural deterioration.
1. The primary sealing material in this two part sealing system is the silicone which is typically applied into the joint between a wall tile and adjacent ledge.
2. The secondary sealing materials are the up-stand strip and adhesive strip. The up-stand strip forms the third inner side of this three sided sealant joint.
3. The up-stand strip and butyl adhesive are polymeric components strategically layered with sealant isolating materials to prevent contact with reactive silicones.
The Aquastrap up-stand strip is supplied BS6213 compliant insofar as the polymeric up-stand and butyl adhesive materials areisolated from direct contact with reactive sealants that may later be applied into the joint between the wall tile and adjacent ledge.

What makes AquaStrap the best EPDM Upstand Seal on the market ?
Factory applied isolating materials on the EPDM up-stand and butyl adhesive upper boundary prevent direct contact with sealant.
The EPDM up-stand is a tough durable flexible material that is not easily torn or pierced. These properties make it an ideal secondary and permanent water barrier behind the first line of defence – the sealant.
The butyl adhesive is a strong tacky black age resistant band that provides strong flexible sealing bond between with the EPDM up-stand and adjacent side perimeter wall to which attached.
Both the EPDM up-stand and butyl adhesive are polymeric materials and BS6213 advises that consideration is given to the preparation of such materials to prevent direct contact with reactive sealants.
